Time to be Thankful!

I don't know about you, but I have so many things to be thankful for.  I am thankful for being a part of Inland Preschool so that I am able to work with all of you and your precious children, I truly enjoy them all.

During the short month of November we will learn more about Trees: more specifically leaves, and their function; why do they change?  We will walk out and visit some trees to feel them, and observe them; what lives in, on and around them.

We will also explore the color Brown, number 3 and the shape Rectangle, but most of all what it means to be Thankful!

I have started a new system for your child to "sign in" to school in the morning.  The trays with "School" and "Home" have become a "Yes" and "No" tray.  There will be a "Question of the Day" on the table with the trays and they will place their name on the tray with the answer of their choice.
This question will pertain to what we will be discussing during our Circle Time.

Now that the time has changed, if the morning is cooler we will begin our day inside instead of outdoors as usual.  Speaking of cooler weather, we are acquiring an assortment of jackets already.  I have been hanging them on the coat hook above and to the right of the cubbies.  If you would mark your child's initials on the tag it would help me be able to make sure it gets in the correct cubbie.

We will be participating, schoolwide in a Food Drive that will help supply the local food bank for the holiday season.  Look for more info at the end of the week.

Check out the tab for upcoming dates for info on our Thanksgiving Party.

And the last bit of info:
Below is a link to a blog I found that perfectly explains WHY we put scissors in our playdough and why it is so popular.  It isn't lengthy and is worth the time to read it.
