November Turtle Talk

November ~ Wow, it's November!  So many fun times ahead in the next 2 months. 

The focus in our classroom this month is going to involve LEAVES and FAMILIES.  We will be working on our family page in the next 2 weeks, if I have not received a picture of your family yet, please get it in by Tues. Nov. 6th.

We will be studying the shape "TRIANGLE" and the color "YELLOW"
Our block center in our room will be changing from pumpkin patch to focus on Pilgrims and Native Americans.   Ms. Renee has a fun tee-pee in the dramatic play center and we will be making some great fall leave pictures in art.  We will also be adding a "Literacy Center" to Ms. Renee's room. 

Look for the FOOD DRIVE BOX in our classroom beginning next week.  The food drive will continue until Friday Nov. 16th.  The classroom with the most participation will win a party - so bring in your non-perishable items and put them in the box!!  Make sure you have your child tell me when you bring something in so we can chart our progress!

I hope everyone has had a chance to meet our new class pet - a very small Frog.  We will be thinking of a name for him in the next two weeks.

We will begin practicing our CHRISTMAS SONGS next week.  We will sing "Jingle Bells" and "Away in a Manger"  I'm not expecting a lot from the children, we will do a lot of hand motions!  They will sing for the parents at our classroom party on Dec. 19th & 20th.
