Turtle Talk - October 2012

Fall is here??

I think the children are finally settling in to our school routine, and are actually sitting at snack time and a little while at circle time, Yeah!!  Some children could still use a little assistance from Parent Helpers, in staying on the rug and joining in with the story/song.   I know it is easier to start cleaning during this time but, I would appreciate assistance with the children at circle time.  Also if any of you come early (11:15) you are welcome to join your child at circle time!

As we are settling in to our routine and I am getting to know the children, I will be having more of a small group time during which I will be able to work more specifically with children and their goals.  I may ask some assistance from parent helpers and will have specific tasks for you to work with such as color/shape recognition games or just language development skills.

The children all seemed to enjoy our Animal theme last month. Special thanks to Gy and family for bringing Gy’s pet, a Bearded Dragon Lizard.  The children loved watching him eat peppers and tomatoes.

October is a busy month, we will begin a study of Fall on 10/8, after this week of “Fire Safety”.   We just need the weather to seem more “Fall like”.
